HFWC - Bright Days

Description

Okay, so I lied. I COULD submit something today. Whatever. Sue me.

If you're wondering what HFWC stands for, it's "How Far We've Come". But because dA has a character limit for the title...*sigh*

So this is the first out of three images of that set. Click here for the original, here for "Life in Colour" and here for "Memories".

So, after the stupid exams were over, I decided I needed to catch up on my many missed hours of PDN. Yay. So I salvaged one of my photos from Cadet Annual last year and did a bit of editing on it.

My original intention was to make this look more like some watercolour art, but I figured out that this looked better as it was. This is less saturated in colour, and REALLY looks like some random sketch. Maybe "Life in Colour" looks better as a "watercolour" art. But its name is slightly misleading; maybe I should submit that one as "Bright Days" and make some new one and call it "Life in Colour". Meh. This is more like, oil pastel work or something.

Wondering why I'm calling this "Bright Days" when it's not exactly all that bright? Look at the original photo. =)

So this was on the last day of the hike, when we crossed the supposedly uber-flooded causeway. Yeah. When we crossed, the water was 4cm deep. I almost drowned. ;)

Who are the two figures still crossing? I know one of them's Mr Morris. Don't remember who the other one was. Mr Shaw? Perhaps.

The middle bits (the tufty grass) look cool all blendy and stuff. 8D
Reminds me of working with dry pastels (or w/e they were called) in VA.
