Colourful World

I decided I wouldn't bombard you with all the weird commentary I made at the beginning and the end with the other deviations. :L

So, yeah. I mentioned a back story on one of my other deviations? Here it is:

About four days ago, I woke up happy and refreshed, ready to start another day of endless Counter-Strike: Source. ==" So I get onto dA and I realise I received a note! I don't normally get these, so I check it with slight tension.

As it turns out, a dA friend of mine (who has watched me for just over a year) requested a new wallpaper to fit their new Mac Pro. I'm not going to embarrass them by naming them, so you're not finding out who. Though if they want to name themself, sure, haha.

Anyway, the person's list of criteria was simple: purple/violet and a high resolution (1680 x 1050px). They also named some of my better pieces because I asked for something to go and start off from. Money was not discussed at all. So I was "commissioned" for free, LOL. XD (But it's okay, I don't seek to profit from this work, so I'm fine. )

So "Spiral Vortex" was one of the named pieces, and I had a shot at a large, purple version of the piece. Unfortunately, in the end, it could only simply be described as fail. There was so much wrong with it. It's like one of those art effects which only look good on a small scale. But once I tried enlarging this effect, there were simply so many flaws, it was really...disgraceful (LOL) to present that to them.

Anyway, so I was screwing around with Apophysis for new fractals (I'm meant to make new ones regularly, otherwise my 'group membership status will be revised', i.e. I'll get kicked). But while messing around with some of the base fractals, one particular fractal caught my eyes. I tweaked the values for the fractal, and suddenly, I was like, "...yes." (in the annoyingly slow, but smug-sounding way. XD). And really. I felt like I had done it.

And yeah. Here it is! I actually made four versions of this, but I didn't want to appear obnoxious or something. So after seeking ~misspandoraa's advice, I whittled the selection down to two, with the other one being "Colourful World - Vibrancy".

When I made this yesterday (whilst playing Counter-Strike: Source), IT FREAKING TOOK OVER 3 HOURS TO RENDER! Q___Q Lame.

But yeah. It's not entirely purple, but that's the point. So there are various focal points. And you won't get tired of it easily.

Afterwards, adjusted the background and contrast with PDN.
